Stylmartin Rocket Boots

Stylmartin is a brand synonymous with quality and exceptional design. Meticulously crafted, tested and perfected, their products are beautiful to look at and perform when you need them to. The Stylmartin Rocket Boots are no exception to this philosophy.

Oozing vintage cool with a look that reminds us of old military boots, they provide that quintessential cafe racer look. We put the boot through its paces to find out if the Rocket has the function to back up the form.

Overview

We’ve been testing the Rocket Boot in its natural environment and have been very impressed with both the quality and performance of it. The boot is finished exceptionally well, with a full grain leather upper and quality anti-slip rubber sole.

Whilst we’re yet to test the boot in the wet, the Stylmartin Rocket Boot is waterproof, packing a breathable yet water tight lining that is gusseted behind the zip to ensure your feet stay dry when the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Comfort

Right out of the box the boot is incredibly comfortable, and whilst it can be a bit of a mission to get into, once you are you won’t want to take them off. Our only gripe is that after wearing the boot for some time, the zip at the top of the boot can become a little uncomfortable against the inside of your leg. This is improved by ensuring your sock is pulled up above the cuff of the boot, but it doesn’t solve the issue entirely. As stated earlier however – a small gripe in an otherwise exceptionally comfortable boot.

With a soft yet durable leather upper, the boots are designed to patina gradually over time, accentuating the vintage look. They also feature an extra layer of leather protection on the toe, ensuring that your gear lever doesn’t take the look of your boot from vintage – to trashed!

Safety

As you would expect from a quality Italian leather motorcycle boot, protection is paramount – with the boot achieving CE certification (EN 13634:2017). They also include PU internal malleolus protection, and an anti-slip, rigid and oil resistant rubber sole to provide protection when things don’t go according to plan.

Value for money

At $400 (AUD), the Rocket Boot is at the higher end of the market. However given the quality of the product and features provided, we believe that even at this price point, the boot represents exceptional value for money.

Sure there are cheaper boots out there, yet few with the same level of quality, comfort and features on offer as Stylmartin’s Rocket Boot.
