Ducati Start Production on New Superleggera V4

Fresh news from Ducati overnight is that the first Ducati Superleggera V4 has just rolled off the production line at the Borgo Panigale plant.

With only 500 units to be produced globally, the Superleggera V4 is the only motorcycle in the world approved for road use with a carbon fibre frame, swingarm and rims.

The most powerful and lightest Desmosedici Stradale R engine in existence, the Superleggera V4 produces 224 hp (167 kW) of power in road configuration – boosted to an astonishing 234 hp (174 kW) when mounted with the titanium Akrapovič exhaust, ‘for track use’.

Thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibre, components made of titanium, magnesium and others from aluminium billet, the Superleggera V4 has a claimed dry weight of 159 kg (16 kg less than the Panigale V4), for a power/weight ratio of 1.41 hp/kg. A record value for a homologated sports bike!
